Popcorn DVD

Friday, April 26, 2013

My copy arrived today! It was totally unexpected, since YesAsia has been pretty slow with their delivery for the last few things I've ordered, but when I was coming in from lunch the receptionist told me that I had a delivery. Yay!

I'm not so sure about the "special packaging"; looks like one of the boxes they sell the bootleg editions in, here, and I'm concerned about possibly damaging it if I handle it too often when I'm taking the DVD out of the box to watch it. While I'm not keen on boxes and slip cases overall, I would prefer a box like Arafes' to this one. But I do like the booklet. I LOVE the booklet. It's cute, even if the paper kind of curls up if I leave it on the table for awhile.

The concert itself is amazing, of course. Because the track list is very similar to the one I went to, this brings back lots of memories.

Going to watch it again now!

Arafes DVD jacket covers!

Thursday, December 6, 2012

Johnny's Net finally upped the jacket covers for the Arafes DVD! The LE and RE looks the same, but the LE looks like it's a little wider? Also it boasts a 92-page booklet, so. I can't wait for my copy :D

Beautiful World DVD, Face Down & Your Eyes LEs

Sunday, June 10, 2012

Since they had so many releases in such a short time, I had my copy of Face Down shipped together with the Beautiful World Tour DVD, and my copy of Your Eyes together with One Ok Rock's Zankyo Reference DVD. Which meant I received my items later than usual, but I didn't mind. I've already watched the Beautiful World DVD several times over since the leak, of course, but the singles - I'm afraid I've only looked through the booklets. Also I watched the Face Down PV, but... that's about it. I love that they've had three singles out this year and all, but what I'm really waiting for is their next album. Greedy, that be my name.

Neen

The unofficial. Got this notebook at the Malaysian screening/Nino's birthday celebration. It actually has the words "Malaysia 10-11 Dome Screening" or something like that on the back.

Goods

Well, my DVD has finally arrived! The unofficial photobook is basically the only one of the 10-11 concert that I could find. Jun's anan was something I had been looking forward too, and the cuteness does not disappoint. I still miss the NatsuNiji Jun, but I'm liking his current hair a lot, too.

10-11 Scene Dome DVD, thoughts and flailings

Monday, June 20, 2011

I'm glad that they did some of the things that they did at the Tokyo Dome concert, because I really wanted to see Aiba sing Ohno's intro to "kotoba yori taisetsu na mono", not to mention Jun's "yonda? yonda?... kichatta..." part in during the encore. Somehow while it was playful and teasing during the Tokyo Dome show in this one it's kind of swoon-worthy, with him speaking in double entendres.

Of course the Aimiya is precious, especially with Nino tearing up Aiba's shirt - I saw a picture of Aiba with the torn shirt in an unofficial photobook and was wondering how it happened; now I know XD - and him not wanting to sing their "new song", Lu-tas.

I love Sho's performance of "T.A.B.O.O." in this DVD so much more than the Koku one, because he seemed more loose and relaxed. "Come Back To Me" and "Magical Song" were also better in this concert, I think, although I may prefer watching the Koku version of "1999*4##111 " just because of the part where Nino waddles up the stairs like a cute penguin. (He does that in this one, too, but the camera angles were better in the other.) Sho's rap scenes in "Believe" and "Still" and "Mada Ue wo" makes me fall for him all over again (and then spoil it by looking at the new Jun anan and saying "oh, do I have a new ichiban?" XP) and... yeah. This DVD is pretty much amazing. Even without the extras, it would have been.

But, oh, what kya-worthy extras. The training camp is so full of Sakumoto win. And even if you're not a Sakumoto shipper, Evil!Jun + Fail!Sho is always a good thing. I'm actually impressed of and scared for Sho in this one, because, you know, when it's happening to you it's not funny at all. It really is scary. Terrifying, even. The fact that he managed to go through it, and laugh at himself about it, is really... I don't even know what to say. This is why I love this guy. Their sleeping arrangements was also perfect for me, since it has all my favourite pairings - Aimiya, Sakuraiba, Sakumoto, and Juntoshi. I swear, this training camp is so full of fodder for fics. Jun in his glasses and pyjamas? New thing to be shipped by me. Makes him look kind of like an ossan, but a really cute one.

I love so many things about the DVD, really. The jacket-making, the PV-making, were both lovely to watch, and Aiba in particular is so very pretty in them. The solo interviews were precious. (What Sho said about Jun! What Oh-chan said about Jun!) The training camp, their BBQ session, Aiba not wanting to give up but learning to give up, them basically acting like family with each other... it really warms my heart. The song that they recorded is probably going to be my one of my new favourites, and Sho playing the piano (two things I love, together) is perfection. Well, really when I listened to Sho, I kept hearing the off-key parts more than the prettiness of it (but it is a pretty song, and Sho did well, considering) but my favourite part is watching the rest watch him.

How can anyone not think Ohmiya are cute, seriously.

The way he's looking at Sho.

The way he's looking at Sho!

The way these two are in a world of their own XD

In conclusion, this DVD is absolutely, positively worth buying, and I can't wait for my copy to arrive.

"Scene"~君と僕の見ている風景~ DOME+

Scene-dome

The cover for the Dome DVD is out on Johnny's.net. The contents are also listed, along with the title of the new PV/single, which would be included in the DVD. (I wonder if the single would still have an LE version, now, and what it would include if it did? Since the PV and making is already in the DVD...?)  The new song is called 「まだ見ぬ世界へ」 (Mada Minu Sekai e).

The LE version will run for 306 mins, while the RE runs for 210 mins. So glad I've pre-ordered the LE!

On a totally unrelated note, I really ought to work harder on my Shukudai-kun rewatch project... ^^;; After all this time, I'm still at episode 31!

Also, (1) for Malaysians who want to pre-order Nippon no Arashi, they could do so at Kinokuniya KLCC, and (2) I know that I haven't been posting about Japanese magazines bargain buys lately - that's because instead of doing monthly bargains, the Japanese books department have decided to hold one major bargain sale together with English & Chinese books, and so are saving the mags until then. Will update when the major bargain sale is announced, of course. Here, and also at this tumblr account, where the updates may be a bit faster since it's easier to update there.

Dome DVD (yay!) and New Album Announced!

Monday, May 9, 2011

As usual, it had to happen when I was at work, so by the time I'm home and on Typepad everyone else already knows. XP I was at the sales floor, and when I got back to the office I checked my e-mail to find Shi-chan on gchat, saying something like "DOME  DVD OUT ON JUNE 15TH, NEW ALBUM BEAUTIFUL WORLD OUT ON JULY 6TH! WE ARE GOING TO BE SO BROKE!" My brain almost broke from the news.

Like almost everyone else, I had expected a Dome DVD but kind of gave up on that when April came and went without any announcements. Then this happened, and with the album announcement on top of that (which, okay, Shi-chan and I have both anticipated) is just too much of a good thing at once. I love it. Not the fact that I'm going to be broke, but the fact that there will be yet another DVD to flail over with other Arashians, and another album to play on repeat for a couple of weeks. ^^;;

Anyway, the DVD will be of the Fukuoka concert - I was really hoping for Tokyo Dome, but the LE  (6,900円) comes with a documentary, so hopefully there will be some Tokyo Dome bits there? (Really wants to see Oh-chan's birthday again) And solo interviews! Can't wait. ^_^

The first press release of the album, Beautiful World, (3,200円) will include 7 new songs and 5 solos, and the currently released singles not in BnMF, of course. That should be everything from To be free, onwards? *checks CD rack* Yup. To be free, Love Rainbow, Dear Snow, 果てない空, and Lotus.

I'm super excited about both and hopeful for concert announcements :D
